Ron Moody, MAI, SRA, one of the original founding partners of Broom, Moody, Johnson & Grainger, Inc. (1982), started a new appraisal company, Moody Appraisal Group, LLC January 1, 2015. With the addition of Mark Williams, MAI and his team, we rebranded to Moody Williams Appraisal Group, LLC January 1, 2020. Our company provides professional real estate appraisal and consultation services. These services include both commercial and residential appraisals as well as litigation support services for a variety of clients.
Ron Moody, CEO of Moody Williams Appraisal Group, with a total of 47 years appraising experience, is an MAI Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute, a designation that is the most respected professional recognition that one can earn in the real estate appraisal business. He holds the SRA designation as well, which is a respected residential designation from the Appraisal Institute. In addition to completing value estimates on proposed and existing properties, Ron Moody is also experienced in litigation valuation and is qualified as an expert witness in numerous state and federal courts.
Ron Moody has been active in local, state and national professional appraisal groups and continues to participate in various committees for the advancement of appraisal education and professionalism. Ron Moody, MAI, SRA, served as President of the Jacksonville Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers in 1984 and then later as President of the East Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in November 1997. He also served on a national committee as a grader of demonstration reports and qualified to teach courses for the Appraisal Institute. He is currently the Vice Chairman on the Board of the Downtown Investment Authority 2018-present, providing his knowledge in the real estate industry to decisions involving the development of Jacksonville’s downtown urban core.
Mark Williams, MAI, President, has over 30 years of commercial appraisal experience. He is an MAI Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute and currently holds licenses in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas. Mark Williams, MAI is the current President of the Jacksonville Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Williams has appraised or consulted on most commercial property types and is skilled in ARGUS Enterprise and specializes in large multi-tenanted assignments. He also has recent expertise and experience with commercial marinas and going-concern valuation assignments.
Moody Williams Appraisal Group, LLC client base varies and includes numerous banks and financial institutions, developers, attorneys, professionals, individuals, national firms and city, state, and federal regulatory agencies. The company performs work in many areas of the United States with a primary concentration in the Jacksonville Metropolitan Area and Northeast Florida. Moody Williams Appraisal Group, LLC also conducts appraisals in specific geographic areas where the property type requires particular expertise (i.e., special purpose properties (i.e., maritime-related) regional shopping centers, manufacturing/special purpose warehousing facilities, apartment complexes, hotels, and expert witness projects).
Moody Williams Appraisal Group, LLC has two (2) appraisers in the residential department and eight (8) appraisers in the commercial department with three (3) trainee appraisers. Those meeting State of Florida criteria are State-Certified General, Certified Residential or Registered Trainee Appraisers. Office support staff includes three (3) experienced staff members providing administrative and clerical support within the company, and two (2) researcher/analysts. The office is fully computer-oriented, utilizing Windows Office Suite, Total (formerly WinTotal), Apex, CoStar, Site to Do Business, LoopNet, MLS, and other software programs having the capability to deliver research and expanded narrative or form appraisal reports. The computer network within the company provides the ability to send and receive reports and data electronically and furnish high-quality appraisals in a prompt turn-around period.
